Laser cutting

Using my drawings from the 3D paper manipulation task, I created designs using illustrator then transferring them to CAD to turn the lines of the design into red. Meaning the laser will cut them out.
The laser works best when the material is quite thick, I tried a thinner piece than canvas and it was too fiddly to deal with once it was finished.
The laser is quick and is a great way to create clean cut designs. The simpler the design, the better the outcome.
Canvas...
This works well as the material is strong and even with the triangles cut out, it's still durable.
Linen...
I really like to work with linen as its neutral  and simple yet effective. The laser worked well with this and I like the burnt edges around the triangles.
Sheer organza doesn't work very well with the laser as it doesn't hold very well. The silhouette from it is really nice and easy to manipulate.
