Evaluation of Origins unit

In this project I have gained confidence to try out techniques I wouldn't usually use. programme's such as illustrator is something I wouldn't really use but have done so during the project even though its very basic. At the start of the project i enjoyed doing creating different verbs using found objects then drawing from them. This has definitely helped me throughout and it kicked of my project. Trying out the i motion app was interesting but wouldn't have been appropriate for the style of work i wanted to gain.

My research links to my work well as i like to find artists similar to my work and have them inluence my practice also. Artist research is definitely something i like to do as it gets ideas flowing.
Throughout the project i have done quite a lot of drawing as it has helped me with ideas.

I've been developing them into different shapes by progressing each drawing into another using negative space. Using these and my artist influences i have created my own shapes which i have used in some designs for vinyl cutting.

I didn't want to use  too many different materials for the drawings as i wanted to keep it simple and linking with the artists.I decided to try out vinyl cutting because i like how i could use my shapes on illustrator to create a design and can be used on walls and interior etc. during the designing of the vinyl prints i did come across a few difficulties with illustrator but kept trying and got what i wanted. in the future i want to develop my skills in illustrator to create more intricate designs. I would also want create things on a larger scale as i haven't done anything very big before and tend to stay on a smaller scale.Even though some things didn't go to plan with my vinyl designs i lost quite a lot of time and it was out of my comfort zone, but it was a learning curve and expect to have many more in the future.

I've realised that by going out of my comfort zone and trying out things i wouldn't normally use, i can still achieve what i want to and persevering with it pays off.

I feel that i'm making the most of Studio time and independent study days as if i need help i can ask when i'm in the studio and carry it on through independent study days. I've developed in the process of thinking as i have been developing my work and can see it progressing.
