I like to draw things quite abstract and stylize what I'm drawing. This one worked well as in the group feedback the girls thought this would be lovely as a really big print for interior. 'I would love to walk into my house and see this print' hazel mentioned this and I was pleased as my main focus and context for my work is interior. This drawing could be developed adding more detail in the flowers. My work was described as 'very English' and felt warm and showed personality.
This was one of the drawings which sparked the use of embroidery. As I like to layer my drawings with different media we thought stitch could be added creating 2D texture. My consistant use of continuous line drawing was not ignored as it shows flow. Maybe I could draw on a bigger scale to show intentions of a fabric.
One thing the girls thought was effective was my use of colour and the media used. I like to use a very strong pigment watered down to ink as it drys in different tones creating texture to the flat drawing. Again they could see a strong sense of interior. A few darker drawings over the top of this would add more detail and would be better suited to a fabric design.
One of the girls mentioned an artist I could be interested in which is similar to mine.
