Sampling:week two

This week I worked from my drawings and images of the vinyl. I focused on one image which I thought worked best overall.

Using found papers from 'mapping the city' (ones I found interesting) and inked backgrounds I hole punched them and using the punched out circles I created images, thinking about composition and which colours worked best.I wanted to get a feel of the image by using the dots and created different width lines.

  The contrast between the vertical, orange lines from the background and the horizontal dotted lines work really well. I used a newspaper for the dots on the orange background and coloured dots on the brown background showing contrast. When the dots are punched out, they bring a whole new level to the found papers and start to create their own image, colour and patterns from the original.

I wanted to create this image using dots and only straight lines. The proportion of colour is shown through the dotted lines.
