UNIT X- screen printing

Experimenting & development
We used influences from the Blackpool Pleasure beach and Belle Vue rides and old photographs to create motifs for our screen. We focused on using abstract designs, linear shapes and drawings of our muse to add character and a sense of fun.

The foil glue is squeegeed through the screen then left to dry. foil is placed over the glue and ironed/ heat pressed.
We wanted to develop the hand painted print but didn't want to add too much on as the print is quite busy anyway. using the foil it adds a print over that isn't too busy.
I like how the foil is slightly warn away in some parts as it links with the old rusty rides. We could use this in our garment with contrasted bolder prints.
When we try this technique again; we need to use more foil glue so it sticks better then the foil will print more even.
