Origins drawings

The first drawing i created was trying to draw twenty objects in five minutes. i used a variety of techniques including drawing with the opposite hand and continuous line drawing.

I also liked this drawing, it's similar to the first one. I closed my eyes and felt the object to draw it, this creates a sense of feel and structure to the drawing as it shows how the object flows. I like the boldness to the lines and how they are imperfect.

Map the city

I went into the city to find inspiration for my drawings,I took photos of various things around the streets, museums and libraries. I then went onto creating drawings using the chance cards.

I made this drawing from the card 'folded or scrunched' I like this particular part of the drawing as it shows composition and various marks using graphite, marker and pencil.

The lines are split apart by the folds of the paper creating a textured messy look. The continuous line drawings were quite hard to do because of the paper being stiff and folded. I was thinking about composition and turning the page around to draw the different things just to try and get the shape and flow of them. I was trying to show the colour of the 'objects' but not wanting to show block/bold colour so used red water colour crayon to show hints of it.

this one is a large scale and I had an hour to try and fit twenty drawings on the page. I like the negative space I picked up from the object also the overlapped drawings look abstract with the different media.

To make this I used my homemade drawing tools and the found objects (nuts) to draw with. i wanted to get the feel of the shell so used negative space to try and show the texture on the outside. The lines came out a bit thick because of the nut, but I think it helps with portraying the object in a different way.

Drawing from a found object using my opposite hand and graphite. the different texture of the found paper bag, masking tape and the sketchbook paper creates different tones when the graphite is drawn on.i like how using my opposite hand creates a rough line and like how its not perfect.
